We wanted to create an agency that would ensure that the family understood what it means to have an ‘additional’ member in the household and the need to create a working and personal relationship with the AuPair based on co-operation and mutual respect. By being sensitive to both the needs of the Au Pairs and the families and matching the right girl with the right family, we found a formula for success. This success is reflected in the fact that the Centre has grown into one of the largest placement agencies in Dublin.          As a partner of Annalivia School, the Centre also organises Evening English Courses in our Dublin based school. It offers high quality small group courses at a reasonable fee. We encourage our AuPair students to take Cambridge or TOEIC courses because it gives them a serious educational objective as well as an internationally recognised Certificate which will enhance their Curriculum Vitae and their employment prospects. Many Au Pairs come to Ireland with the specific motivation of gaining a degree of fluency in English. We also offer the AuPairs a social programme. The combination of classes and an interesting social programme (Greyhound Racing, Irish Dancing, Glendalough etc) means that the AuPair develops her own social network of support and friends very easily.          Of course the Au Pair Study Centre is also there to offer support and help should there be any problems with the family. Our most obvious advantage is that we are based here in Dublin and are readily contactable and can respond to any situation immediately. However we would like to say that we rarely encounter problems as we have an agreement to be signed by both the prospective AuPair and the family which specifies work schedules, free time, pocket money and any other relevant information.          Evening English Classes We run evening Adults English classes in our school in Dun Laoghaire. Classes run for all levels on a part time basis. Our Evening English classesprepare student for all Cambridge exams (First Certificate English, Cambridge advanced Exam etc) as well as TOEIC courses and general English exam classes.
