They are committed to language classes during the day (9-13h30) and are available only in the afternoons (and maybe one morning) They normally work between 15 and 20 hours (maximum) a week. As they attend language courses, they need some time in the evenings to study, we recommend that Demi pairs finish at the very latest by 20h00pm except for babysitting nights. Apart from cooking for the children and very light household duties, Demi pairs offer childcare help only.        Why be a Demi Au Pair? Learn a foreign language! As au pair you take part in your host family's daily life. You are forced to use the language of your host country and to listen to it during the whole day. Moreover you can train everything you learn at your language school in real life, so that your linguistic skills internalise. Soon you will speak fluently without having to search extensively for words.        Become independent! By working autonomously within your host family and by taking over the responsibility for the children you learn to make your own decisions and to take on responsibility for other people. These are qualities you need both during your studies and your job.        Combine your stay abroad with a job! As au pair you have the possibility to finance a longer stay abroad without large expenses of your own and to get to know more than the city you live in. You can travel all over the country during your spare time or during your holidays. Often the host families like to take their au pairs with them to their holidays.        Enjoy working with the children! You love children and you would like to take up a profession that includes the care for children?
